Puffin on Skomer Island
We went over to Skomer Island on the boat from Martin's Haven in June. What an amazing day. It is a short boat ride from which we saw porpoises, dolphins and seals. The steep steps up from the boat are not for the feint-hearted but the climb up was more than worth it. If you ever go to Pembrokeshire with your camera put Skomer on your list of places you must visit. Bring a packed lunch and water proofs - there's not much shelter on the island other than a disused farmhouse which has had a picnic area installed - there are no cafes or shops on Skomer Island.
Pembrokeshire is a photographers paradise - beautiful empty beaches, amazing landscapes, lots of historic locations to explore, gorgeous light and amazing skies. Nowhere better to escape with your camera.
I have now set up a dedicated group to St. Bride's Bay, Pembrokeshire on Flickr - if you have any photographs taken of or in the bay that you would like to add to the group pool, or you would like to view more beautiful images of this area please visit www.flickr.com/groups/stbridesbay/
