Sigh. Our new neighbor's used stoves gettin' crunk.
The hair salon that used to occupy the store front adjacent Flying Pigeon LA moved out a few months ago. After a long wait (probably because the "For Lease" sign hanging from the side of the building was terminally flipped around backwards), the space was filled again in March of 2010.
Too bad our new neighbor is a messy sort of dude. He sells used refrigerators, stoves, and appliances - a decent business in an area rich in renters and poor in landlords that provide appliances in their units. Refrigerator Man picks up discarded units, refurbishes them out back (in the parking lot), and sells them out of his new show room. When they're not being doused in solvents, bled of freon, or being hastily loaded onto the back of a truck they are poised like this, "tipsy", drying off, staining the sidewalk with the brew that issues forth from their innards.
This was an exciting turn of events for us, getting a new neighbor, and so we'll reserve our judgement of Refrigerator Man, as we do not know how this whole affair will turn out. Hopefully he'll get his act together, but if he doesn't at least we'll have these awesome street sculptures to marvel at.
