Brilliant Harvest, Anderson Valley
Several photos ... below .... as well. Thanks for stopping by Flickr friends. I'll respond to your comments on Your photostreams. Looking forward to seeing your new posts!
DESCRIPTION: To drive through the beautiful Anderson Valley in Mendocino County - going from inland to the sea - is to enter a sensual fairyland. Vineyards are spread out against rolling hills by a river, with oak trees on the northern slope and redwoods along the southern slope of this lovely valley. The two lane country road that winds through the valley used to be a stagecoach route that connected the logging and fishing villages on the seacoast with California's inland towns and cities.
After following the valley for some miles, one moves into the dappled shade provided by the redwood forest, curving along next to the Navarro River among these grand and tall trees, and finally the road opens out all of a sudden onto the shining Pacific and one has arrived on the rugged Mendocino coast.
I will be showing work at the Scharffenberger Cellars winery in Anderson Valley from October 4 to December 27 with several other artists. Here is the information: scharffenbergercellars.com/TastingRoom.php
