Encore Paris! Here's yet another view of Paris from my archives, one of the last I'll be reposting for now.
Paris I love for being both ordinary and extraordinary at the same time. On my way to take pictures along the Seine, I was enchanted by the way the golden angel (called the Genie de la Liberte' or the Spirit of Liberty) on top of the column comemorating the Revolution of 1830 was lit up by bright sunlight breaking through the clouds after a refreshing rainstorm. The dark storm clouds created a perfect background to the scene, where everyone was on their way, in a hurry, in this special setting. Buildings and monuments attest to the rich history of Paris over the centuries....yet ultimately Paris is truly as much about her residents making history as it is about her architecture!
Apres un orage rafraichissant tout le monde se depechaient pour arriver quelquepart pendant que l'ange se rejouissait du soleil contre ce ciel remarkable. Paris j'adore pour ces tableaux a la fois ordinaire et extraordinaire.
