The Baldwin No 12 from the Georgetown Loop is once again rolling the rails on the Midwest Central Railroad with her sister the No 6.

A thumbnail history of the #12, as written by a Georgetown Loop senior staff member (edited for clarity):

"August 1, 2012 is the last day for #12 at the Georgetown Loop. This little Hawaiian princess is a well traveled locomotive.

"It was built by Baldwin for the Kahalui Railroad in 1927. It was shipped to Alameda, California in 1967 and eventually moved to Chama, New Mexico.

"It was then sold to the Midwest Central in Iowa. It was resold to Silverwood Theme park in Idaho. There it was reassembled and reboilered in 1988.

"It came to Colorado and the Loop in April of 2005. Now, it is once again going to Mount Pleasant, Iowa.

"Aloha #12. You will be missed."
