Educated both in classical Tibetan system and Cambridge University, Thupten Jinpa has been the principal English translator to H.H. the Dalai Lama for over two decades.

 

Jinpa is an adjunct professor at the Faculty of Religious Studies at McGill University, Montreal, and the president of the Institute of Tibetan Classics. He is also a founding member of the Center for Compassion and Altruism Research and Education (CCARE), Stanford University, where he was the main author of CCARE?s eight-week Compassion Cultivation Training (CCT) program. Currently, Jinpa is the Chairman of the Mind and Life Institute, an organization dedicated to promoting dialogues and collaborations between contemporary science and contemplative insights and perspectives.
