burry burdock bear

This cuddly-looking creature has a prickly side—actually many sides because it is made from common burdock burrs.

This piece is called "Arctium minor" and was created by Susan Knox. It is part of the exhibition of works on display in the TRU Art Gallery. The show is called Art & Science: Drawing & Botany and runs to June 21.

Admission is free and gallery hours are 9am to 5pm, Monday through Friday.

The gallery is located by the Tim Hortons in BMO Student Street.

The exhibition is in recognition of the Canadian Botanical Association holding its 49th annual conference at TRU from June 1-5.
