Nehalennia temple in Colijnsplaat

A model of the replica of Nehalennia temple in Colijnsplaat, Netherlands. It is based on the temple near the lost Roman town of Ganuenta.

Nehalennia is a goddess of presumably either (or both) Germanic or Celtic origin. On numerous altars she is depicted with a large dog, a basket of apples and marine symbols, including a boat she puts her foot on. Her domain might have been voyage, trade and even afterlife.

The replica of the temple was opened in 2005. It is easily accessible and is free of charge if you just want to see it from the outside. Or, if you desire to see and learn more, you can contact the people managing it for more info (do it in advance).

The two minifigs you see admiring the building are me and my partner on our crazy trip through Netherlands from a few years ago :)
