The Barber's Shop, Bannack

The barber had his chair and business in a corner of the saloon. It's said that there were frequent shootouts in the saloon in the bad old days, but the barber would calmly go on shaving his customer as the bullets whizzed around. Whether the customer was calm they don't say, but when you have a straight razor at your throat in a shootout, there isn't much else you can do but remain calm and seated until the shooting comes to a complete stop and the barber turns on the "Run Like The Devil" sign. Thank you. (There is an old legend about a sign on the piano in a western saloon: "Please Do Not Shoot the Piano Player: He Is Doing His Best.")
