The Notre-Dame du Sablon (in Dutch: Onze-Lieve-Vrouw ten Zavel) is a religious building on the edge of Sablon in Brussels. It was not until the eighteenth siècle1plus precisely at May 8, 1716 found a written record of the name Our Lady of Victory, which was even then in use among the people, because we thought at tort2, it was founded to celebrate the victory of Duke John I at the Battle of Worringen.
The arrival in 1348 of a miraculous Virgin whose cult and called Ommegang procession would soon supplant the devotion and the procession to St. Michael was going to give this church a major role in the social life of Brussels.
As always, comments/notes/crituques and favourites (just hit F ) will be very much appreciated! For the best view, hit L .
