This was the third year running that a pair of swallows had raised a family in this nest. It is situated in the staff/goods entrance of the hotel and both the parents and young became very used to the close proximity of people - the parents would return to roost each evening about 11pm before the hotel was closed for the night and be patiently waiting on an electricity cable each morning to be let out. Altogether there were 4 pairs of swallows nesting at the hotel each year but these were the only ones to nest in a public place. There are 5 chicks altogether, the fifth one is hidden at the back.
