James Scott Memorial Fountain
James Scott was a Detroit real estate speculator and developer who lived from 1831 to 1910. Scott's Last Will and Testament devoted his fortune to the erection of a fountain on Belle Isle. The fountain was dedicated on May 30, 1925.
At dusk, the fountain woud put on a water and light show from Memorial day until Oct 1st.. The fountain is constructed of Vermont White Marble and has 109 water outlets in the shape of human heads, dolphins, turtles, lionesses and animal horns.
