Traditional umbrella production
The Bo Sang Umbrella Village in Chiang Mai is located nine kilometers east of Chiang Mai. The village was once part of the ancient Lanna Kingdom and has a unique charm and character of its own.
Bo Sang (meaning umbrella) is famous for its traditional Thai umbrellas and other handicrafts. Bo Sang was originally a tiny village, where generations of families were engaged in the making of umbrellas and parasols with silk, cotton and mulberry paper.
