      What is it for?
      Is it an experiment?
      Or "just" art?

Hey! I'm the editor for a hard-bound book that's currently in production, and found your photos via a Flickr search for great Lane County photos.

The Register-Guard is putting on a photo contest for the purpose of finding the absolute best photos of Lane County, then publishing them in a fine-art coffee-table book. What's unique about this contest is that users are in the drivers seat, voting for the photos they think should be in the book. There's also a lot of prizes to be won, although for most photographers the exposure (especially if your photos make the book) is the reason to get involved.

We're calling it Capture Lane County. It's all free and I think your photos would be a great fit. You retain all rights and you get some great exposure for your website or Flickr page (we properly credit you, and link back to you all over the place, plus your website would be published if your photos made the book). If you've got a free minute and want a shot at getting published, winning prizes, or just want to see some other great Lane County photos, head over to Capture Lane County.

Oh and we use the Flickr API so putting your photos on the Capture Lane County website is a click of a button.

If you'd like to know more about the project, or want to shoot me a FlickrMail, please feel free to do so.

      Thanks for your time!
      -Chris
