Fluke 83 & Amprobe AM83
Bought an old Amprobe AM83 from Ebay and I gave it a clean and calibration. Not absolutely spot-on on all fields when compared to the Fluke 83, but it's in spec, and for what it is intended it will do just fine.
Not measuring current was a requisite, but being able to jump between AC-DC as detected, it's a good addition (just 2M Ohm input impedance).
This meter is to give to some noob guy in this matters... my brother. Just for him to check the car battery and other minor things.
And with an ON-OFF button, I suspect that he'll not even use the rotary switch.
In the end... another multimeter was saved from a premature death. Unless he kills it.. that is.
