Hawksbill Turtle, Kona Coast, Big Island, Hawaii.

Here's a big honkin' Hawsbill I saw a couple weeks ago. These are a critically endangered species world wide, and really rare in Hawaii.There's an interesting article today in the local paper, detailing the conservation efforts here, which include locating and guarding the few remaining nesting sights 24 hours a day.
