Diver's Cove, Sand Harbor, Lake Tahoe, NV.
What a week: more then 5 feet of snow, hours of combat snow removal, the Thanksgiving pig-out, house guests, kids home, runs to the airport, stuck cars, and days of powder skiing at Heavenly (best opening in years).
The skies cleared out a few days ago, and I was finally able to get out and play with my new (refurb) Nikon 17-55 2.8. Seems like a pretty useful range.
This is the area known as Diver's Cove at Sand Harbor, a popular spot on the Tahoe Flickr trail - Bonsai Rock is just down the road. Lots of folks have learned to Scuba dive here, hence the name. A warm summer weekend will find dive shops bringing their students here from all over northern Nevada and California for their first open water dives. Locals go in year round, but not me; I'm spoiled on Hawaii.
I like the tree growing directly out of the crack in the granite.
