The Last Picture Show

The Skyview Drive-In has just closed for good.

 

When I first moved here from LA in 1988, I was a struggling single mom who could not afford a babysitter. So I used to see most of my movies at this drive in, with my daughter asleep in the back seat.

 

At that time, they still had the sound coming out of a speaker that you hooked onto your car window. In recent years, they upgraded to a radio-sound system.

 

On the weekends, they had a gigantic flea market here on Saturdays and Sundays.

 

Good times, now gone for good.
