Wood Warbler (Phylloscopus sibilatrix), Rocherath, Belgium
The wood warbler (Phylloscopus sibilatrix) is a long-distance migrant whose populations have strongly declined throughout Western Europe over the past decades. There is still uncertainty about the reasons for decline, possible causes include unsuitable timing of breeding and food supply for nestlings due to earlier springs, increased predation of nest by ground predators, problems on the wintering grounds, etc.
