Tongeren + Vice

The four Belgian Minesweeper at Chatham Navy Day in 1979 were the MERKSEM (M476), TURNHOUT (M474), TONGEREN (M475) and VISE (M482).

They were all Herstal Class Inshore Minesweepers built by the Mercantile Marine Yard in Kruibeke.

They displaced 190 tons and were 32.5 metres long. Armed with two 0.5mm guns and powered by two diesel engines.

Seen in front of the sweepers are the Royal Netherlands Navy vessels HADDA (P805) outboard of the BLOMMENDAL (A905)
