Robert McGinnis
Born February 3, 1926 in Cincinnati; studied at Ohio State University in Columbus and the Central Academy of Commercial Art in Cincinnati. Beginning in 1956, he produced more than 1,500 paperback covers for Avon, Bantam, Berkley, Dell, Gold Medal, Popular Library, Signet and other houses. His first was for one of Dell's Mike Shayne novels. His is best-known for his Dell's Mike Shayne series and Signet's Carter Brown series. Around 1960 he made magazine illustrations for The Saturday Evening Post and Good Housekeeping and more than 50 film posters (e.g. James Bond)
