Kiev 2 block letters
Canon EOS 3000v / Diana 110 Soft Telephoto Lens + Diana Macro attatchment / Ilford HP400+
I find the block letters in the Kiev 2 front a much better design than anything that came after, especially the Cyrilic/Latin logo of later Kiev rangefinders. People at Arsenal just should have stuck to this, IMHO. Maybe the reason for a bi-alphabetical logo was exporting: few people in the west can barely read Cyrillic (not talking of speaking Russian), and a Cyrillic capital 'i' just looks like a reversed 'n' to them. Anyway, I don't have any notice of Kiev rangefinders selling in any quantities in the west; TOE, Mashpriborintorg's major partner for photography equipment in the west (as I have understood) didn't even include them in their catalogs).
