Sept. 1936: New sloop SWAN [II] sets compass bearings swing by tug WATTLE - NHSA.
30. The newly-completed Grimsby Class sloop HMAS SWAN is put through her compass setting swings by the venerable harbour tug HMAS WATTLE.
WATTLE, being restored at Victoria Dock in Melbourne as of 2009, was constructed by men and apprentices at Cockatoo Island Dockyard in 1933 as a make-work measure during the Great Depression.
