Farming all his life in ND, taught high school while farming for a few years, full-time farmer now. He is a leader in co-operatives with farming. Now is a board chairman of CoBank that is a farm credit bank, which lends to rural electric, water, and telephone. Also lends to farm credit associations. Most co-ops only lend to farm credit associations but CoBank also does direct loans. Lends through USDA, especially to start-up coops, like ethanol. Also serves on rural electric co-operative board.
