U.S. Department of Agriculture’s (USDA) National Pollinator Week Proclamation (June 20-26) is supported by the Seventh Annual Pollinator Week Festival, located next to the USDA Farmers Market on Friday, June 24, 2016, outside the USDA Headquarters in Washington, DC. During this event, vendors will display signs labeling produce and prepared food offerings that can be pollinated by bees, birds, butterflies, bats and other animals. A mobile window-box and bee characters help promote awarness of the contributions that pollinator animals make to the food we eat and how we can help them survive. Planting a pollinator garden is one of the ways people can help. To see the Pollinator Week Proclamation, go to

The Pollinator Week Festival highlights the work of USDA agencies, other federal departments and institutions such as the United States Environmental Protection Agency, U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, Smithsonian Gardens, and the U.S. Botanic Garden, who along with partners like the National Honey Board, Pollinator Partnership and University of Maryland Extension are working to address pollinator decline.
