"The Last Farewell" by Alfredo Oliani, São Paulo Cemetery, Bairro Pinheiros, Brazil.
Of Alfredo Oliani, stands out the sculptural ensemble Ultimate Goodbye, considered one of the most instigating works of art citeriterial in the city of São Paulo. The work was commissioned by Maria Cantarella, on the occasion of the death of her husband, Antonio. It represents a man in the vigor of age leaning on the dead wife, in a passionate kiss of farewell. Oliani sought to attend to the widow's request for a sculpture that openly celebrated her love for her husband - recognizing him as alive in her memory and herself dead, without her company.
