fuck you nicolas lampert
I learned about your collage work today and looked at all your work. Your collages are great and I especially liked the image of the boy at Arlington Cemetery. I am, however, concerned by the image above. As you can probably tell from my website - my "meatscapes" series, which started in 1999 is known for single, large pieces of meat in the landscape. My concern is that your image might create confusion on whether this is one of my images or not. That type of confusion can be a possible copy right violation and in terms of how artists co-exist and support one another, it is way too close to "biting" another artists style. I imagine you were not aware of my images when you first made the image and posted it, so, in the future, to avoid confusion, could you either take down the image, add a disclaimer (text that notes that it is in the style of Nicolas Lampert with a link to my website) or change the image enough so that confusion will not be created.
I have already had an design firm (Leo Burnett) bite my style with their "beefscapes" ads, so I am very sensitive to this issue.
Thank you and email if it would be helpful to dialogue more about this. My email is on my website contact page.
