Chocolate Croissant Bribe

    Newer Older

A chocolate croissant (pain au chocolat) from Macaroon Boutique is one of the easiest bribes to get my husband to help carry my bags at the farmers market early Saturday morning.

Fabrice makes the pastries exactly like home. It's a torture to visit though. Wish I could bottle that scent.

Note: at the bakery they call them "chocolate croissant" because 1/ easier to pronounce 2/ same dough, different application.

I like the lighting of the croissant here much. Although it seems to be in a shaded area, it is still so bright, that the structures and textures have a great defintion. The milk bottle and the cup in the back are great props here, because they are interesting to look at and so they add details in this more minimal setting.

This one was a great exercise in proportions. The pain au chocolat was massive. I should measure them next time. Huge. Made it a bit hard to work with the cup and the bottle but I think it came out aright for a "shot on the fly".
It is indeed a milk bottle we use daily and my cup of coffee in there :)

I know this kind of pain au chocolat from my local bakery. They are really huge. But you did a great job here. It doesn't look to huge, just right in size.

Ohhhh, pain au chocolat :)! We have a littel french store and bakery around the corner and they sell good ones almost similar to those in France.
