Grandma's Apple Tarts - Afternoon Baking

    Newer Older

Trying to capture the feeling of an afternoon baking session like I used to have with my grandmother when I was a kid.

    Recipe and story on Tartelette.

Yeah, I do have to agree that the nostalgic feel can add some fun to your everyday routines.

Btw, your 2007 post on "cannelé pretenders" has given me the courage to make them even though I don't have the right molds. Thanks a lot!!! Here's how mine look like.

Well, if you do know of anyone who'd like to sell his/hers as second-hand, do let me know!

I agree with Amy! The spilled flour really helps. I didn't get to bake with my grandmother when I was little because I live away from my family but I really, really appreciate this.

Mmm, this is beautiful and yummy looking! I'm like stardust--never lived close enough to my grandparents to bake with my Granny. She certainly did enough baking for us though!

I adore how the apples form a rosette.

As I said on your blog, this is a real cool shot, I like it for many reasons: styling, light but more than all the crispy and fresh look of the tartelettes.
