Cambridge - Trinity Hall - Entrance from Trinity Lane

Looking through the gateway in the entrance range into First Court (and, beyond that, through the screens passage of the hall range). Most of the fabric of First Court is 14th century, but it was remodelled in 1742-5 to the designs of James Burrough; the entrance range was rebuilt in 1852-3 following a fire to the designs of Anthony Salvin but re-using much of the Georgian stonework. The RCHM describes the entrance (including the ironwork in the tympanum of the arch) as 18th century, while suggesting that the keystone is "probably of 1852".
