Ova and larva of Enterobius vermicularis

Five year old boy whose mother noticed thread like structures in his urine.

These are ova of Enterobius vermicularis, which contain larva. The head and tail of the adult female worm is photographed separately since the whole worm is not seen in a single field. The female worm has a pointed tail and the male has a blunted tail.
