Garlic Chicken and Peapods Chop Suey with Fried Rice
I realized today that I am becoming my father. I'm not sure how happy I am about that. His cooking methodology is firmly based in saying "I don't really know what I'm doing," several times while he is cooking.
I pretty much go to the grocery store, buy stuff I've seen before in chinese take out, and come home and cook it. I've decided buying seasoning packets is for suckers, so tonight I used a tablespoon of soy sauce, fish sauce, hoisin sauce, sriracha hot chili sauce, and the five spices blend. Why a tablespoon? Who knows, was the first measuring device I grabbed out of the drawer.
Why so many different sauces and spices?
Well, I don't know what I'm doing.
Also, I have grey hair.
And either way, this was really good, and cost me $8 with enough left overs for three days.
You can't really beat that.
