Lasercut Rufflebeard Scarf

I have asthma and I live in Rhode Island, where winters get very cold. I made this to keep snow and wind off of my face while biking, hence reducing the frequency of my asthma attacks. It keeps warm air close to my face, but still allows me to breathe easily without constricting my throat like a regular scarf.

I lasercut these fabrics and built the ruffles by basting long stitches and then gathering them. The ruffles were sewn to the scarf base (a re-purposed t- shirt) in tiers. I hand- painted the fabric to add more depth to the color.
