Cape Egmont Lighthouse

Located on the most westerly part of Cape Egmont. This lighthouse has stood since 1864. It was erected on the 350th anniversary of Abel Tasmans first sighting of New Zealand.

I almost titled this picture "The Sunset That Failed". I set off on a 45 minute drive to capture the sun setting behind this lighthouse and thanks to an incorrect geo-tag on someone else's photo ended up in the wrong place. So I missed the awesome sunset but did snap this image which I think is kinda cool.

For the record, my geo-tag is correct!
