Vintage Spools Block for me!

Newer Older

Blogged here! We all collect threads and I have loads of old spools which look pretty even if the thread is not really useable. I've put some notes on for the different fabrics- there were a lot of points to match and a high level of accuracy is not my strongest point but it is all a great big learning curve. Still needs its border to neaten it up but I'll add that later.

I keep coming back to this block! I love it! Please do a tutorial so we can all make one. I've been all over the web looking for that spool fabric can you give me any information on where I might find some?

  16. verykerryberry 39 months ago | reply

Thank you! The last time I found some was on Etsy but it was a random half metre and the colourway I used here was given to me, It is by Kumiko Fujita and is part of her Needlework collection but if I could find more I would! It was a very hard block to do and I didn't keep the pattern I drew but it is a series of squares and rectangles with the spools inside. There are lots of spool blocks on line and I just scaled a block down to fit in the little squares
