This is NOT Victoria amazonica

This Victoria cruziana, a native of the Parana-Paraguay basin of South America, is slightly smaller in size than the giant Victoria amazonica.

The underside of the leaves of V. cruziana is purple as opposed to the red of the V. amazonica.

The rim of the V. cruziana is covered with a peachlike fuzz that is not found in the V. amazonica.

V. cruziana opens its flowers at dusk.
