Solar power, wind power, tidal power.....renewable sources of energy.
Here on our small island in the North Atlantic we experience regular tides, in some parts there are great tidal surges. We also have winds, gusting around our shores and flowing over the land. Then there is the sun (yes, we do see the sun from time to time!). In addition it rains a lot, so we have many becks, streams, rivers....once these were used as an effective source of power.
So why don't we research and utilise these sources more thoroughly?
After all, anything is better than fracking etc, which has the potential to despoil so much.
Just a thought...
After torrential rain during the day, the skies cleared, the sun came out and this was the sky over the bay in the evening. The sun is getting lower in the sky as Autumn approaches, and the sun sets further along the far shore. I was surprised at how much I could see with the naked eye, as the distant shore is a long way from Hest Bank.
On the right a flock of birds can just be glimpsed.
