Once upon a time
Taken at Aldingham in early August.
Entwined in some posts are the rotted remains of old fishing nets and ropes. To me this scene cries out to be painted by a talented water colourist (no doubt it has, many times!!)
(My husband thinks the rusted bolts and wooden posts indicate a winding device for hauling boats up onto the shingle). Other suggestions relate to the use of groynes along this stretch of coastline to prevent erosion of the sands etc.
Low on the horizon can be discerned the shapely outline of Ingleborough, Yorkshire Dales
