Clean Bread and Cheese Creek voluteers removing trees topple by storms blocking the stream on 7/29/12
Recent storms toppled three massive trees in Bread and Cheese Creek effectively damming the section of the creek running beneath the BGE power lines. If left unattended to, it would have caused wide spread flooding to property owner in the area and greatly damages the already eroding banks. On 7/29/12 ten Clean Bread and Cheese Creek volunteers arrived at 10 AM today and worked continuously until 7 PM when all trees and blockages had been removed. While cutting up this fallen timber they also took the time to fill up two 55 gallon bags of trash and remove a shopping cart. We would like to thank these volunteers for giving up their Sunday to work so hard for our community and the environment. We are so fortunate to have so many incredible people willing to help their time to help make a difference!
