Giuseppe Momos double helix staircase Vatican City 03

    Prev Next

This architectural masterpiece was designed by Giuseppe Momo (1932) This spectacular staircase is formed in the shape of a double helix with one ramp going up and the other one going down. At the moment the staircase leads only in one direction downwards to the exit of the vatican museum. Its almost impossible to get pictures without people in frame, which makes it a nice patience challenge.

      Beautiful! I love the toning.
I would have appreciated a person walking down though, to make it a bit more alive and maybe for scaling.
