Pest Control Takes Care of Unidentified Ant Species at JBPHH

PEARL HARBOR-HICKAM, Hawaii (Feb. 24, 2015) Pest Control personnel from Naval Facilities Engineering Command Hawaii were called out to treat two shipping containers with large oak timbers from Tennessee due to an unidentified ant species that was discovered Feb. 24 at Joint Base Pearl Harbor-Hickam (JBPHH). The contents of each container was treated in the morning and then in the afternoon, killing the ant colonies found at both locations. State of Hawaii Department of Agriculture was on scene and collected some of the ants. They are working to properly identify them.
