Straô Noordwelle 2018
Straô an annual village festival where the feet of the horses are "washed" in the sea. The villages on the west side of Schouwen-Duiveland all have their own "Straô celebration".
Between the fifty and one hundred heavy Zealand horses are driven into the sea on a number of consecutive Saturdays. The most riders in traditional outfit. The horses are decorated with wreaths of flowers. The heavy hooves raise the water high, the sand thrusts in all directions as the colossus shake in the direction of water. What is called impressive?
Thanks for your visit and comments, I appreciate that very much!
