TRILLIUMS, Spring, Shenk's Ferry Wildflower Preserve, southern Lancaster County, PA. USA

Trillium (trillium, wakerobin, tri flower, birthroot) is a genus of about 40–50 species of spring ephemeral perennials, native to temperate regions of North America ...

Shenk's Ferry is (or was) one of the most beautiful local nature preserves when I lived in Lancaster County. It's situated in the lovely river hills near Pequea along the Susquehanna. A stream which empties into the river flows through the preserve.
