Lifestyles| Encino, CA | Los Encinos Garnier Building

Seeing the trucks parked next to the Garnier Building here at Los Encinos Historic State Park means that this is spanning across three centuries! This house was built around 1870. More about the park. . .

What an interesting piece of So Cal history! The shot above of the house with the beautiful old palm is wonderful, Carrie. The palm almost looks like a giant pineapple, it's so big! Looking at the historic photo and description from the past, it must've been a wonderful place to come across to taste the sweet water that came out of the natural spring. I've seen a few and water looks sweet just by looking at it. One can actually taste the difference when it comes to real spring water. The Garnier building looks solidly built. It retains the looks of what it must have looked a long time ago. Good pick today!

Happyshooter / Joe M Thank you Joe! This is such a graceful house and the palm tree does remind me of a pineapple! Maureen was right when she said it took a long time to grow. Considering this house was built in the 1800's, it's amazing anything like this still stands today. It has survived so many quakes and look at what has built up all around it! It's like a little oasis now :-)))
