Marsac Railway Station (4)
View of the former goods shed, long since sold off, and seemingly now used as a builders merchants, or farmers supplies depot. As well as the track through the building, there were tracks on either side, protected from the worst of the weather by the substantial overhanging eaves. This is a deeply rural part of France, and the coming of the railways were, initially at least, primarily for merchandise, rather than passengers, since roads in the region, even by the mid 1800's, were quite poor, and the movement of goods was difficult, especially in winter.
