I have had a love/hate relationship with this car since 1979. That's when my dad bought it for $500. Not a bad price for rust and primer. It needed a new muffler and I remember being petrified for the 45 minute ride home from the car lot. To this day, my stomach still does a summersault from the sound of it's engine idling or the smell of exhaust.
We love to tease my dad about this car. It took a long time for him to restore it and it is his baby. It only leaves the garage maybe two times a year...and he will take it for a cautious cruise on the side streets and then right back to the garage. No stopping anywhere. Much to Bert's disappointment, no one in the family wants to inherit the car. As cool as it is, I don't think anyone wants the responsibilty of maintaining it.
