My Beautiful Boy!

in preparation for learning from the cat face master, Mimi. This beautiful animal has been through more pain this month (and me with him)! He was diagnosed with Diabetes last December. It's been tough getting him on the right insulin regimen. On the night of July 4th, he had a number of seizures relating to Diabetic Shock (too much insulin) and I thought I lost him twice on the way to the ER (at 3am!). Anyway, the Emergency vet revived him and all seemed swell (the thought was that his pancreas was now working and he didn't need the insulin). Well, no insulin worked well until a week ago when he crashed again. Off to the ER once more. This time, his blood sugar was skyrocketing and he was highly dehydrated. Unfortunately, he suffered renal failure and although his blood sugar and hydration issues were put under control, it appeared his kidneys were, last week was tears all week deciding I may have to let him go. Even sadder knowing I didn't have a good photo of his face - I think he's gorgeous! His kidneys started functioning again so now it's just getting the right insulin dosage and a photo shoot with Mimi, of course!

What a story, Dawn. Twice to the ER at such a terrible time. Where in the world did you take him that was open 24/7. wow. So glad he doing better. You are a great fighter, Dawn, and so is your cat. This is an outstanding photo too. What detail.
