I found a new trainer - three times a week (MWF) for half the price of my old one. He's very attentive to my knee ailments and so far so good. I'm working out one day without him (biking, hiking or something like that) and starting a beginner yoga series in April.
I feel like I live in yoga pants and tennies these days. Not a bad way to be.
Diet still isn't back to perfect, but I'm doing mostly well and still drinking way less booze and lots and lots of water.
