Great Depression Bread Line

The Franklin Roosevelt Memorial is one of the most elaborate and unique in the DC area. It contains 4 "rooms", each containing a notable element of one of his four terms. This photograph shows a breadline, a common feature during the great depression when he was first elected President. The memorial also has a statue of his wife Eleanor and of his dog, Fallah. The monument is hard to find just south of the Tidal Pool but well worth looking for. A copy of this work is at the "Grounds for Sculpture" Park near Hamilton, New Jersey.
