The Quilt.

    Newer Older

This is the quilt Mary began way back in 1928 or so, continued throughout my childhood, and completed by me last week. All hand sewn, mostly from scraps of material left over from clothes my mother made for herself or her children, clothes I made for my son, baby quilts made for relatives and friends. Many bits and pieces of our lives sewn into this Grandmother's Flower Garden quilt.

What a beautiful quilt..made even more special with the fabrics of your lives used throughout! My heart beats a little faster when I see quilts like this! Good for you for finishing it up. I hope you made a label with this info to sew on the back? So many times the history gets lost. It's just wonderful! :)

This is amazing! I've just started my first try at english paper pieced hexagons and it's nice to think that if I don't finish it, maybe one of my daughters will sometime down the road. Thanks so much for sharing.
